Tottenham Hotspur is set to send last season signing DeAndre Yedlin out on a season long loan this year. Spurs have recently signed former Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier, and are keen to send their young American out on loan.

While Kieran Trippier will provide first team competition for current starter Kyle Walker, DeAndre Yedlin appears to be left out in the cold. Though he can be used as a right midfielder, his primary position has always been at right back.

Rather than allowing there youngster to ride the bench this season, Tottenham would rather send him out on loan. Though no club has been determined, it will have to be a side that can offer the former Major League Soccer All-Star consistent playing time.

The 21-year old was signed from MLS’s Seattle Sounders for around £2.5 million last summer. However, Yedlin completed the MLS season with Seattle before leaving to play at White Hart Lane in January. The American international made his debut late last season as a substitute in a loss against Aston Villa.

Most likely, Tottenham Hotspur will want to send Yedlin out on loan in England. Either the English Championship of League One will be the destination, however, nothing can be determined at this very early point.

One possible solution will be to send Yedlin back on-loan to Major League Soccer. As there league is at the midpoint of it’s season, Yedlin would be able to join before returning to the club in January. Though Tottenham want a season long loan deal, having Yedlin return in January may be favorable given the risk of mid-season injuries.

If the club still does not need DeAndre, they could send him back on-loan to a club in England. Allowing Yedlin to return home for half a season before being involved in the end-of-season battle in England could do wonders for his development.

A move such as the one above would give Tottenham Hotspur time to sort out a possible January move for the young American.

Though it is unlikely at this stage, Tottenham could reconsider the move and decide to keep Yedlin with the first team. His ability to play multiple positions would allow him to fill any gaps in the team should injuries or suspensions occur.

At this stage though, it looks more than likely that DeAndre Yedlin will be heading out on loan. While the technical part of his game is what he will mostly be working on, almost any club in the world could use him. His overall speed makes him one of the fastest players in the world.

Adding a right back with that amount of speed would add a very dangerous element to almost any club. With this is mind, I don’t expect Yedlin to be available for long.
