Aston Villa’s acquisition of Tom Cleverley was met with little to no enthusiasm. In fact his arrival was received with confusion and comments like “Why the heck did we get him?” Although the idea of receiving a player from a top club on loan seemed ambitious, Villa ended up taking a player who was subject to ridicule from internet memes and Shinji Kagawa.
