Chelsea 1-0 Stoke
Didier Drogba’s 100th goal for the club helped the Chelsea move equal with Arsenal in their battle for a top 4 position. Roberto di Matteo earned a much needed win in his first game in charge, but they still have a long way to go if they are to regain their Champions League position.
Aston Villa 1-0 Fulham
Andreas Weimann scored his maiden goal for the club as Villa stole all three points from Fulham deep in injury time. Aussie Mark Schwarzer was unable to clear a parried shot which allowed Weimann to help Villa into the top half of the table.
Wolves 0-2 Blackburn
Blackburn moved out of the relegation zone thanks to a superb double from young star Junior Hoilett. Hoilett scored a goal in each half to help the Rovers three points clear of the drop and condemn Wolves to what looks like their inevitable destiny of Championship football.
Sunderland 1-0 Liverpool
Liverpool’s awful run continued as Sunderland moved within 2 points of their opposition. Nicklaus Bendtner finished after Frazier Campbell hit the post, and Liverpool moved 10 points behind fourth place Arsenal, who have a game in hand. Safe to say Liverpool’s top 4 hopes are gone.
